Afraid Of Labour Pain?

Afraid Of Labor Pain???

Ladies,
Take this from someone who went through natural labor five times and has lived to tell the tale….Allah(swt) doesn’t give you burdens more than you can bear, and you need to believe this and have faith in it because this is what He Himself said. So trust me, the pains of labor are temporary and when you see that little face all the pain just goes away and becomes very manageable.

Yes there are drugs, medications and pain killers to lessen the pain of labor. But I highly discourage using these things willingly if you can avoid it. The thing is, Allah(swt) does everything for a reason, thus this had led me to believe that maybe there is a good reason He gives us women all this pain during labor. Yes it is the worse pain you’ll ever experience, but when it’s all over and you are up late at night feeding the baby, rocking him/her, maybe dealing with colic or some other challenge that motherhood may throw at you, you can now sit back and say “I’ve been through labour, so I’ve been through worse! I CAN do this!” Labor pain will give you the confidence and motivation you need to be a hard working mummy. Really…you CAN do it!

While motherhood itself is not easy, it’s also not as hard as people make it out to be either. It’s really just a lot of work and it all depends on your priorities and what you consider ‘hard work’. If you like colouring, cutting paper, being childish and love kids in general, you will LOVE motherhood! It will be a thrill!

But if you are career obsessed, worrying about what people think of you, or live for glamour and glitter and ‘girls night out’, motherhood will be stressful to you and will be the hardest thing in the world… Just a little advice from the mummy who always wanted a zoo of kids 😉

Yours Truly,
Azizah…

…Comments from My Readers…

“I must say, motherhood is a challenge for me but at the same time it’s extremely rewarding and a huge learning experience. It has helped me in my Islam and life in general. I don’t like being all childish, it’s not me or how I grew up, mainly among adults, so it’s the difficult part. But Alhamdulillah I’m slowly getting there. InshaAllah. I agree with you 100% Alhamdulillah. So there’s nothing more for me to say !!! :)… Amazing how alike we think” [Canadian Mummy, (Sunday, September 6, 2009 12:07pm)]

Assalaamu Alaikum. I had the pleasure of reading your article on labour pains and Alhamdulillah I have something to share with you which you will hopefully share with your readers. After having been forced to take an epidural for my first labour and then not having any support at my side during my second labour, the third time I was determined to be a woman and go through my labour without ANY drugs. Alhamdulillah Allah answered my duas and from the beginning of my labour pains I started reciting the “Dua for ease”- ” Allahumma laa sahla illa maa ja’altahu sahlan, wa anta taj’alul hazna, ithaa shi’ta sahla.” Over and over and over until I was in hard labour and couldn’t recite anymore. Truly Allah eased my pains and made my labour very short and I was able to go through without any difficulty. Short and sweet. And my added bonus? No stitches!!! (unlike my previous deliveries) AND I felt so alert and well after since I was not under any drugs. Alhamdulillah. Truly Allah helps those who call upon Him in sincere dua.
